๐ช Reading Crypto Charts in 5 Minutes ยท Lesson 10 of 10
Last lesson you locked in the risk rules that keep your account alive. This is the capstone, where the nine lessons before it stop being separate ideas and become one thing you do.
Knowledge you don't use fades fast. The fix is a routine: the same short sequence of steps, run the same way every time. It turns trading from a guessing game into a checklist. Here's the one to build.
Step 1: Check Bitcoin first
Always start at the top. Open the BTC chart and ask one question: which way is the market leaning right now, up, down, or sideways? Glance at where Bitcoin sits versus its nearest levels and whether dominance is rising or falling. This is lesson 8 in action. You're reading the current before you decide where to swim.
Step 2: Scan your watchlist
You don't watch all 10,000 coins. You watch a short list, maybe 5-15 names you actually understand. Run through them and ask what the trend and structure look like on each, using the higher-timeframe lens from lessons 3 and 5. Most days, most coins are doing nothing worth trading. That's normal. You're hunting for the few that line up.
Step 3: Mark the levels
On the names that look interesting, mark support and resistance. These are the lines from lesson 4 where price has reacted before. They're where the action happens: where breakouts fire and where reversals start. A chart without marked levels is just a squiggle. With levels, you suddenly have a map.
The discipline: If you can't name the exact level where you'd enter and the exact level where you'd be wrong, you don't have a trade yet. You have a hope. Keep scrolling.
Step 4: Wait for the setup
This is the step that separates traders from gamblers, and it's the hardest. You wait. You let price come to your level and show you a real candle or pattern, the stuff from lessons 2, 6, and 7. No setup means no trade. Sitting on your hands is a position, and most days it's the right one. The market trades 24/7, so there's always another setup coming. You never have to force one.
Step 5: Size with a stop
When a setup does trigger, you go straight to lesson 9. Place your stop beyond the noise under a real level. Size the position from your fixed account risk, 1-2% per trade. Set the stop as a resting order on the exchange so it protects you while you sleep. Only then do you enter. Read first, risk-control second, click last.
The five-minute routine
That's the whole thing. Five steps, a few minutes, repeatable forever. Some days it ends at step 2 with nothing to do, and that's a win too. Protecting your capital on a dead day is the same skill as catching a clean breakout.
Practice it without risking a dollar
Here's the move almost nobody makes but everybody should: run this routine on paper first. Paper trading means you make every call, mark every level, and "enter" every trade with fake money while the real market moves in real time. You learn the exact same lessons, except the tuition is free. Paper trading is how you build the habit before a losing streak can cost you anything.
Do it for a few weeks. Run your five steps daily, log what happens, and watch which setups actually work for you. By the time you switch to real money, the routine is muscle memory instead of a thing you read once.
Where to go from here
This is where the course points you back at the charts. ChartRead reads crypto charts (BTC, ETH, and the alts on your watchlist) in seconds, marking the trend, levels, and patterns so steps 1 through 4 take a glance instead of a study session. It also has a built-in paper account, so you can run step 5 and practice the whole routine risk-free in one place. Pair it with the chart patterns cheat sheet and keep it open while you scan.
You've got the full picture now: candles, timeframes, levels, structure, volume, patterns, Bitcoin, risk, and a routine to tie them together. Go run it on a few charts today while it's fresh. The traders who make it aren't the ones who know the most. They're the ones who keep showing up and running the same simple loop. Start your loop now.
